New Darwin Colony is located on the 2nd planet in the Gamma Sagittarii System approximately 25 light years from Earth, on the Klingon border. For over 50 years, the system and colony site were under Klingon control and the vast dilithium resources of the System’s many moons, as well as mines surrounding the Colony, were excavated by the forced labor of a humanoid race, known as the Daliwakan.
In 2157, the Dali sent a brief sub-space call for help, which led Starfleet ships to the moon of GS-6, where they rescued a ragged group of Dali miners. It was found a supporting settlement existed on GS-2, and the Fleet also liberated that location. Born from the bombarded ruins left by the angry, fleeing Klingons, New Darwin Colony is a joint project with Starfleet and some 300 liberated Daliwakan, who are unable return to their homeworld, Daliwaka, which remains under tight Klingon control deep within the Klingon Empire.
The Colony is now well developed, with a solid Starfleet presence, and a second clan of approximately 275 Daliwakan refugees have found sanctuary. In light of the Romulan War and subsequent Cold War, everyone is eager to get a foothold in the GS system, and lay claim to the treasures hidden underground. A growing civilian population brings both good and bad to the Boomtown star system. Starfleet Intelligence has set up training operations and intelligence gathering in the region. Starfleet Academy has a specialized branch in the Colony as well.

The New Darwin Colony is an "Enterprise" era sim that is part of Starfleet - The First Era Role Play Group the Internet's first "Enterprise" era only RPG Group.
