PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES Typical Daliwakan ridges on the forehead with bronzed, tan skin. Quite stocky and muscular in build. The right side of his body is badly scarred. Minimal vision in his heavily damaged right eye leads him to wear an eye patch in public.

Kalevah' was born in a rural farming community on Daliwaka, on 22 March, 2128 (Earth Standard Calendar). His family lived a simple life steeped in the old traditions. His father, Jalevah', trained Kalevah' to do all of the work required on a farm - tending crops, livestock, construction, repairing machinery, etc. In the evenings, his parents taught he and his younger sister Shiinoo' all about Daliwakan tradition, how to read and write both Daliwakan and Klingon.

In early 2142, Klingon conscription of forced laborers reached Kalevah's village. The community had been lucky thus far in that the Klingons had not travelled this deep into Daliwakan lands. The expansion of the Klingon empire and the risin\g need for dilithium, however, had driven the demand for laborers to the point that not even the remote villages were safe any longer. Many of the Daliwakans put up a weak resistance, which was quickly crushed.

The family was taken from their home and separated. Jalevah' and Kalevah' were bounced from one mining colony to the next. The work was hard, and many died from the strain, but the family value on education paid off, as their ability to speak Klingon one Kale' and his father favor with their guards. They were deemed useful as translators. Unfortunately, Jalevah' died in a mining accident late in 2144. Kalevah' was part of the rescue effort. His inability to save his father haunts him to this day.

In 2148, Kalevah' was transported to the dilithium mines of Gamma Sagittarii VI where he worked as a forced laborer until the Daliwakan revolt in 2156. He participated in the fighting, where he was critically injured during the final Klingon bombardment of the outpost. He spent the next year in rehabilitation. He is still unsure where his mother and sister were sent after their enslavement, but word did reach him from Daliwaka in early 2157 that she had died as a slave on Qo'noS. No word regarding the fate of his sister has been obtained to date.

His traumatic life experience has left him with a bitter hatred of the Klingons, and a troubled loss for his family. His near death experience, however, has given him a sense of appreciation for life that keeps him focused on the good things in life that have not been taken away from him. He often says "Nearly dying saved my life."

With no family to go back to on Daliwaka, Kale' decided to stay on New Darwin after his recovery. His medical ordeals instilled in him a desire to give back and heal others. He was able to train with the Starfleet medical personnel that have been stationed on New Darwin enough to obtain many of the skills required to fulfill the role of Corpsman for the medical facility. With the official Academy under construction, he hopes to soon formally enlist in the Starfleet medical corps.
HOBBIES Kale' is a tinker from his roots. He maintains a garden outside his little house. He is also a storyteller, poet, and musician (though rarely in tune!).
